Hi Jessica and Yogis,

My Husband and I want to introduce you to our beautiful baby boy John Michael Teitelman who was born 10-8-05 @ 6:15 am (14 days late). He was a big boy weighing in at 7 lbs 12 oz and 20 1/2 inches.

My water broke Friday the 7Th at 1pm at my favorite store "Target". I called my Doctor and he told me to head home for a while and then grab my belongs and head to the hospital. 2 hours later i was headed to the hospital and was getting admitted and being hooked up with fetal monitors.

Of course my husband took off to weeks before Johnny actually came so the day my water broke Mark was back on the road filming in San Diego. I told him that morning that i am sure since he is leaving my water is going to break and guess what, it did!

Finally 4 hours later my husband showed up at the hospital to join my parents and i in the room. I was only dilated 2- 3 cm and nothing had changed. They finally gave my pitosin to try and bring on contractions since i had none at all. I started getting contractions around 10pm but i was still only 3 cm dilated. The nurses and doctors kept coming in the room because every time i had a contraction the baby's heart beat would drop, this worried all of us. During this time of stress i started breathing and relaxing (Thanks to Yoga) and meditating.

I was hooked up to machines and had an epidural so i could not get up and walk or do yoga. I did some Ohm's and they really seemed to help me relax. Finally at 5 am(Saturday the 8Th) the doctor came in and said they were going to do an emergency c-section because the baby's heart beat kept dropping after my contractions and they needed to get him out before he got too stressed.

On my way to the operating room trying not to cry i had to think positive and know everything was going to be alright. I kept thinking happy thoughts and tried to tell myself i would be seeing my Baby boy very soon. The C-section was only 45 minutes total and there was no pain at all.I went to recovery for an hour and my husband went with the baby to get cleaned up. When you look at your baby for the first time your heart stops for a second, seeing my beautiful baby was the most wonderful feeling i have ever experienced. Seeing my husband in tears of joy was so beautiful.

If any of the Yogi's have to have a C-Section don't worry at all, there is no pain just pulling and recovery is not too bad at all. I was walking around the hospital the next day and had to take no pain pills at all. My Doctor was so impressed i told him it must have
been the Yoga and he agreed and said he wished he had other patients in just good shape.

I am in love and can not stop starring at Johnny, he is so magical!

Breast feeding is very tough and really hurts but every one keeps telling me it will get better so i am sticking with it. I found pumping is easier for me so i pump most of the feedings except for 2 or 3. Usually at night i feed him my breast. The lactation consultants at Cedars are pretty good but i asked my cousins and Friends to see if i was doing it right and found there advice more helpful.

Jessica, thank you so much for your beautiful teachings. I don't know what i would do without you and your class. You are such an amazing person and i wish the best for you!

I am sad to be leaving your class but excited to have graduated and have my baby.

Remember yogi's to expect anything and be open minded because you never know what is going to happen. Enjoy your time as a preggy and learn from Jessica's class, it really does help!

Oh and get an epidural, it really is wonderful!

Hugs and Kisses to you all and good luck :)

I will try and stop by next Thursday before my Doctor's Appointment to show off Baby John Michael.

xoxo Trish
